"Gerry's isn't like a liquor shop, it's like a spirits museum where you can buy the exhibits....and the docents are very helpful!"
Ted Haigh, Curator of The Museum of the American Cocktail
"I regularly visit Gerry's in search of unusual cocktail ingredients and specific hard to obtain spirits and liqueurs for my tastings and am seldom disappointed. If you can't find it here the chances are you won't be able to find it anywhere else in the UK."
Simon Difford, author of
"Gerry's is Soulshaker's one stop shop for all our boozy requirements. It is indeed a veritable Aladdin's Cave!"
Giles, Soulshakers 2007
"I've spent more time than I would ever admit to an employer simply staring at the magical window of Gerry's. It's like being a kid at the circus; every bottle tells an exotic story of a land far away. There's a Dickensian quality to it, the shelves groaning under the weight of painstakingly collected liquors and hand-labelled potions from around the world. Dust off a bottle hidden at the back of a forgotten shelf, crack the seal, and you are sucked into a world of intriguing flavour. It's the sort of place where you feel certain that down in the basement there is a hidden door leading to a tunnel down to the river where eighteenth century smugglers landed untaxed barrels of cognac and rum. Now if only there was a branch south of the river."
Gerry's have probably done more to excite the London bar scene than any club or bartender. No other place generates quite the same buzz amongst bartenders and connoisseurs alike with it's phenomenal range of products and unusually knowledgeable staff. They always have whatever we need for our events at the drop of a hat and the guys couldn't be more helpful. Any bar professional who doesn't get just a little bit excited about a visit to Gerry's is probably in the wrong industry.
