English through and through, Sacred Spiced Vermouth brings together an array of exquisite regional ingredients to create a rich, spicy vermouth with a distinctly English feel. With its history in apothecary Peychaud’s Bitters has a strong authentic flavour which was originally dispensed as a medicinal tonic. Of course, the signature cocktail with Peychaud’s is the Sazerac but the subtle yet spicy flavour makes it a great choice for a wide range of cocktails from Old Fashioned to Whiskey Sours and the overriding flavour in each sip is aromatic cloves. The biggest of the bunch when it comes to Salto Cachaça, Salto Pure is a 39% ABV spirit which describes itself as ‘unmodified’. It has a strong, impacting nose which is fruity and invites you to taste. The flavour is bold and has a sugary sweetness due to its fermented sugar cane juice base. Salto Pure Cachaça epitomises the flavour of one of Brazil’s national treasures and offers it up with a punch.
With a couple of awards under its belt El Dorado 3 Year rum is a fine example of a mixing rum which a crispness that lends itself to sharp citrus cocktails and even exotic punches. Coconut is ever-present from first opening and hints of sugary sweet icing sugar are also apparent in the nose. On drinking El Dorado is surprisingly dry with notes of intense brown sugar, a nutty edge and of course that coconut coming through strongly. The end note blends vanilla with the coconut for a fresh finish.
