This côtes du rhône villages is typically full-flavoured, lusciously fruity with a delicate spice in the finish; made without oak maturation principally from grenache noir, syrah with some enriching carignan noir.
A lovely mature Beaune blended from different sites throughout the commune, including a portion from 1er Cru vineyards, smooth and seamless with a rich savoury character and a long, satisfying finish.
This Chassagne-Montrachet balances some of the fat rich butteriness often found in Meursault, with the steely, flinty, minerally elegance more prominent in Puligny-Montrachet.
Made from the Cortese grape variety, grown in vineyards with a cool mesoclimate; these are generally north facing and up to about 350 metres above sea level. The wine gets its name from the town of Gavi, situated in the south-east of Piemonte, around which the vineyards are planted. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly on its fine lees. It shows white flower and green fruit aromas, with a touch of honey and minerality on the palate.
Vineyard Notes
The grapes, selected from low yielding vines, come from the areas of Carcassonne and the Minervois, in association with Celliers Jean d'Alibert.
Winemaking Notes
The two varieties were vinified separately. Both went through a period of cold soak. fermentation on skins lasted 2 weeks prior to pressing. There was very limited use of press wine.
Tasting Notes
The blend of rich blackcurranty Cabernet and brambley, gently peppery Syrah makes this a very distinctive wine. The vanilla character of the oak is present but subtle, and the tannins are softer than in many Cabernets. A very luxurious drink; silky and satisfying.
Food Style
Good with a range of red meat dishes, but its soft fruity character makes this an attractive wine to drink by itself.
Vineyard Notes
We have selected vineyards in the area of Carcassonne and the Minervois based on grape flavour and yield. The wines are produced and bottled in association with Celliers Jean d'Alibert.
Winemaking Notes
The grapes were cold macerated then pressed, cold settled before fermentation. 30% of the Chardonnay was fermented in French and American oak barrels, and remained on lees in barrel, with some stirring, for six months.
Tasting Notes
Chardonnays come in many styles, from light and minerally to rich, buttery and oaky. We wanted to make a Chardonnay that was satisfying, yet fresh, and with a sufficiently interesting flavour to capture the imagination. From the outset, it was crucial that it would be a great accompaniment to food. This is a fresh, pine-appley wine, with a subtle hint of oak and a touch of mango and ginger
Food Style
Great by itself or to accompanyall fish and white meat dishes. Will work well with oriental food.
Tasting Notes
A very distinctive and immediately enjoyable Pinot Noir, this is a very juicy, raspberryish, cherryish wine with hints of strawberry and oak and a refreshing note of pepper.
Food Style
Great by itself or to accompany a wide range of meat dishes, but could also be enjoyed with fish such as tuna or salmon.
Serving note: Would be good slightly chilled, especially in warm weather.
Pale pink. intense aromas of raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant with a hint of pepper. rich palette with refreshing bright red fruit and peppery character. apparently dry, with attractive fruit-sweetness.
This is a classic, well-balanced wine with fresh redcurrant and wild strawberry-fruit flavours, and a smooth texture. Enjoy with game or mature hard cheeses.
Packed with rich, juicy ripe berry fruit flavours, a touch of soft tannin and a subtle twist of spice. Try it with a hearty meat dish, cheeses or simply lap it up all on its lonesome... Purrrfect!
Our 'Cunning Little Cat' (Le Petit Chat Malin' in its native French) is a tasty wine made from specially selected grapes harvested in the vineyards of the sunny South of France.
Easy drinking southern French red. The blend of Grenache and Syrah is at once intensely fruity, warmingly southern and slightly aromatic on the nose. Plump and juicy with luscious texture and subtle twist of spice on the finish, it is a fruit-driven style brimming with blackberry flavours yet underpinned with a backbone that hints at something more serious. Delicious with a platter of antipasto or tomato & meat based pasta dishes. It can also be enjoyed on its own. Maybe a dog's life isn't so bad after all!
This is a great gGigondas. Deep ruby red in colour with a very attractive bouquet ( oak, forest floor, red fruits and dark fruits) Austere tannins, moderate acidity offering notes of barrel ageing complemented by forest fruits Moderate length for finish .
A delicious bottle of wine! On the nose, I get smoky, bacon fat. On the palate, I get rustic, smoky, meat and a hint of blueberry. You can tell this is Syrah from the Rhone. It is somewhat reminiscant of a Cote Rotie.
One of the most famous white wines in the world and one for which louis jadot is justifiably famous; a lovely rich wine that shows the true delights of chardonnay, soft and elegant with a rich mouth feel, delicate use of oak and good acid balance.
A perfect aperitif wine or with fish / light meats/ salads. Lovely unoaked Chardonnay with a soft, gently creamy mouth feel balanced by fresh, crisp apple characters. Sealed with a screwcap to maximise freshness.
The grapes are sourced from around Puligny and a part of the Blagny hamlet on gentle east-facing slopes. The wines of Puligny-Montrachet are generally characterised by greater firmness and depth than those of Meursault and greater refinement and delicacy than those of Chassagne.
This is a very attractive Blanc de Blancs, pure, distinct and clearcut. Ruinart Blanc de Blancs evolves in the mouth, fluctuating between a delicious freshness, suppleness and fullness.
The remarkable Champagne is golden yellow in aspect, with fine bubbles and persistent mousse, offering aromas of ripe green fruit and citrus giving way to a palate of white fruit with some floral notes, supported by good acidity and a long, lingering finish. Serve as an aperitif, or with scallops.
A boldly aromatic Pinot Noir opens with notes of cherry and dark chocolate, giving way to a hint of smoky oak and light rose petal. 12 months of aging in 100% French oak lends notes of sandalwood and cardamon on the mid-palate giving a finish reminiscent of fresh baked blueberry pie. This full-bodied, finely balanced wine marries velvety tannins with crisp acidity.
