Named for its place of conception, Portobello London Dry Gin No. 171 is a classic London gin with all the characteristics of a premium product. Floral notes pour out of the bottle on opening with lavender and camphor at the forefront. Parma violet sweetness follows and on tasting you’ll get the first hint of juniper. The citrus notes often found in abundance in other gins are subdued but their essence is in the background and it’s a little spicier than your average gin, without being overwhelming. Wonderful for your favourite sling.

A single malt that many lust after, Lagavulin 16 Year Old is a southern Islay offering which combines bright rich notes with a light dryness, creating an interesting, concentrated flavour. The nose is reminiscent of Lapsang Souchong tea, exceptionally smokey with undertones of sweet sherry and vanilla. The flavour is equally intense, with a thick richness on the palate, rich in malt and sherry with bright fruited sweetness and the smoky peat always there in the background. A masterpiece of the smokey style.

Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is made in a small distillery in Yarra Valley, Australia. Everything the Four Pillars distillers make is based around their four pillars - the still, the water, the botanicals and love. It's sort of a bit like the four elements of hip hop. Pillar 1 - The Four Pillars copper-pot still is called Wilma. Pillar 2 - The water they use from Yarra Valley is triple filtered. Pillar 3 - They use some local botanicals (Tasmanian pepperberry, lemon myrtle), some exotic botanicals (cinnamon, cardamom, coriander seeds and star anise) and some classic botanicals (juniper, lavender, angelica root), as well as whole oranges to give Four Pillars Gin its flavour profile. Pillar 4 - The distillers love what they do and love what they have made. It all adds up to a vibrant Australian gin which stands out in cocktails, but tastes just superb neat.

Copperhead Gin from Belgium , made with a selection of five botanicals - Juniper, Cardamom, Orange peel, Angelica and Coriander. It apparently was named after Mr. Copperhead, an alchemist who was searching for the elixir of life. Along the way, he produced the recipe for this refreshing gin! Try with a garnish of Green Cardamom Pods and Fever Tree Tonic - either Natural or Elderflower based on your preference.

This sexy mother of a wine struts forth with an opaque plum/ruby/purple color and terrific notes of creme de cassis, licorice, roasted herbs and smoky barbecue. It is a brilliant effort, with full body, wonderful fruit, a savoury, expansive mouthfeel, sensational texture and a long finish, but no hardness or astringency. This is a fabulous Talbot to drink over the next 20-25 years

Very neutral nose that opened out to something pretty savoury. Very attractive, fine, top-quality oak on the finish. Lovely balance. Should just get better and better. Everything seems ripe and in balance here.
