AquaRiva Reposado Tequila is intended to be a bar Tequila, specifically for cocktails. It is produced from 100% Blue Weber agave. On the palate, there are hints of caramel biscuits and delicate ripe fruit. The brand is owned by comedy actress Cleo Rocos.
The Añejo is aged for 14 months. It is refined and complex, with flavours of soft caramel and vanilla. A perfect balance of sweetness from the blue weber agaves, with subtle spice from the oak barrel ageing and a long, smooth finish.

Don Fulano Reposado is another stylish offering from the distillery who do things a little differently. It has similar characteristics to the blanco with rich, herbal freshness. However, the time spent developing means this reposado has notes of bitter dark chocolate and warming maple added into the mix. A sharp boost of peppery spice also lifts this tequila, though it still remains wonderfully fruity and intensely herbal.
Don Julio Reposado Tequila is a 100% agave offering which spends eight months maturing in bourbon casks. It has a depth of flavour which is largely down to this maturation process and both almond and coconut notes come through alongside subtle spice and creamy vanilla in the nose. On tasting you’ll enjoy a biscuity depth with notes of sweet orchard fruits, cinnamon and white pepper which hangs around until the end.
El Jimador Reposado is made from mature blue agave and spends two months resting in American oak barrels. Olmeca Altos Reposado spends a little longer being aged than other Olmeca tequilas, with 18 months in 200 litre white American ex-bourbon casks. It retains a super sweet and fresh flavour with its aroma packed full of bright fruitiness, notes of strawberry and cherry. Produced and distilled in the heart of Tequila, Mexico, by Fabrica de Tequilas, this reposado was made with blue agave that was cooked in autoclaves using steam for 10 hours. A special yeast is then added to the agave juices before fermentation, which lasts as long as 72 hours before distillation.
Rooster Rojo reposado is subsequently double pot distilled in stainless steel pot stills, before being 'rested' in oak. Water filtered through Mexican silver is added to blend the product down to a measured 38% ABV.
Sauza Hornitos Tequila Reposado is a golden tequila which spends a year maturing to develop a woody depth to its flavour. Multi-layered aromas are revealed on opening with salt, pepper and liquorice even coming through. A tinge of black pepper entices you to drink and the flavour is exceptionally sweet, especially compared to the other Sauza offerings. This delicious and moreish tequila has a rounded flavour that isn’t lacking in spice. Tapatio Reposado is robust without being overwhelming and mellow agave is supported by more prominent notes of sharp green apple and a trademark pepperiness this brand is known for. As it coats the palate a creamier depth becomes apparent, with notes of sweet caramel and chocolate tempering the hot pepperiness. Remnants of the ageing process are apparent until the end, with wood smoke lingering on.
The Villa Lobos range is made by Carlos Camarena, also known for Ocho and Tapatio. The Reposado is aged in oak for 11 months, resulting in notes of sweet fruit and honey, with a hint of spice.
Reposado or ‘rested’ tequila is any tequila which is aged for a minimum of two months but less than a year in oak barrels. It takes on a golden hue and has a balanced and robust flavour caused by the combination of agave and wood from the barrels.
