Reposado or ‘rested’ tequila is any tequila which is aged for a minimum of two months but less than a year in oak barrels. It takes on a golden hue and has a balanced and robust flavour caused by the combination of Agave and wood from the barrels.
Del Maguey single-village mezcals are very rare and highly sought-after, having picked up the title of World's Best Mezcal at the World Spirits Competition every year from 1999-2002. La Hora Azul or "the blue hour" tequila is a line of tequila owned by the Don Good Tequila Company of Las Vegas, Nevada. The name is meant to be an "homage to that beautiful twilight when a blue light accompanies the sun before it rises and sets." The reposado (or "rested") expression will have been aged for between 3 and 12 months in oak prior to bottling, providing a note of vanilla from the wood to soften the agave. They suggest serving with "chili laced Mexican chocolate.
