Here we have a three-year-old rum from Ron Viejo de Caldas, which is a Colombian producer that’s garnered a considerable international reputation. This rum has been entirely matured in ex-bourbon barrels. Sip it neat, or make it part of a cocktail.

Flamboyant Vieux Rum is a Mauritian offering which enjoys a relaxing seven years maturing in ex-bourbon barrels. It is named for the Flamboyant Tree which appear on its labelling and is a native species of Mauritius. The flavour of the rum is exotic as its naming, with floral notes present from the off and lingering until the end. Well-rounded but not lacking in flavour, Flamboyant Vieux Rum is just begging to be sipped.

A young Havana Club offering, this 7 year old Cuban rum gets its amber hues from the bourbon casks it’s matured in. The aroma is reminiscent of first thing in the morning, rich in roasted coffee with vanilla and gingerbread coming through too. Vanilla fudge is the prominent flavour when you take a sip and it’s soon paired with sweet dairy chocolate, fruit trifle and woody oak notes. The end result is a warm, rounded rum which is wonderful when mixed with ginger or lime, or both!

Don Q Gold is produced in Puerto Rico using a multiple distillation technique, and is allowed to age in American oak barrels before it's bottled. A good choice for sipping neat or splashing in a cocktail.

With a couple of awards under its belt El Dorado 3 Year rum is a fine example of a mixing rum which a crispness that lends itself to sharp citrus cocktails and even exotic punches. Coconut is ever-present from first opening and hints of sugary sweet icing sugar are also apparent in the nose. On drinking El Dorado is surprisingly dry with notes of intense brown sugar, a nutty edge and of course that coconut coming through strongly. St Aubin Rhum Agricole comes from Mauritius, and is made by distilling fresh sugar cane juice in the French method. St Aubin itself has been in the business of sugar production since 1819, and started to distil it quite recently. This particular spirit is unaged and clean, crisp and tangy.

Made from nine specially selected Jamaican rums, Myers's is complex and rich yet still smooth enough for cocktails. Aged in bourbon barrels for a minimum of five years, enjoy this dark rum in an array of drinks.

Full bodied and packed with deep brown sugar notes, Skipper is a molasses-based rum which brings together seven different individual rums.
