Don Julio Anejo is another exceptional offering from the recognisable tequila distillery. This product spends up to 2 years in former bourbon casks, giving it a deep golden appearance. The flavour is rich with zest, both grapefruit and lime coming through strongly in the nose with lighter hints of marzipan and tea. The flavour is candy sweet with a honey-like viscosity and a reappearance of those tea flavours, now paired with that classic tequila flavour of charred vegetables. Tannins with a tea-like edge end the drink in memorable style.

Tequila Extra Anejo

Don Julio Anejo 1942 spends up to two and half year ageing, nearly enough to be classed as extra anejo. It’s stilled in a single pot still and has the wonderful spiced aromas of cinnamon, sweet agave, vanilla and interesting Turkish delight. The taste is deep with cinder toffee notes, the continual flavour of the agave and bursts of sweet, zesty citrus. Dry and nutty the finish is long with notes of smoke.

From the Domus range comes another intriguing Grappa - this time, the spirit is made using the Nebbiolo grape and has been matured to help develop its flavour profile. Nebbiolo grape are the core of all brilliant Barolo wines, but do they make great Grappa? Absolutely! Roasted apricot, walnut, dry cinnamon, juicy prune and a touch of brandied cherry.

The rum base is an aged Caribbean rum previously used to season empty whisky casks for final maturation. An extract of Banana Peel is infused into the rum to impart a fruity forward note to the spicy, sweet toffee profile of the Rum. It’s like liquid Banana Bread. Best served neat over ice, shaken in a Daiquiri or mixed long with Ginger Ale.

An 80:20 blend of pot still to column still rums is used to deliver the quality taste of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. Aged for up to 12 years this exclusive rum is a heady concoction with sandalwood and fresh leather aromas that lead to a deep and bitter flavour. The bitterness comes through in deep coffee notes but they are matched by sweet honey and plum flavours which add a lightness to this intense rum.

An aged agricole rum from Damoiseau, the Millesime 2009 was produced in Guadeloupe and bottled after seven years of rest in American oak barrels. This is the 'raw' version of the 2009 vintage agricole, bottled at a warming 66.9% ABV.

A highly commended malt which offers wonderful value for money and exceptional flavour, this 15 year old Dalwhinnie lets its simple yet effective flavour notes do the talking. On the nose it’s all about aromatic toffee, sweet nectarine, apple blossom and just the slightest touch of smoke. Daddy Rack Tennessee Straight Whiskey comes from J. Arthur Rackham. An individual who has spent more than 5 decades working in the alcohol industry. Leaning on what’s described as purity and flavor nuances, all barrels chosen for Daddy Rack are aged for a minimum of three years, then blended by Rackham to produce a smooth yet cask strength Tennessee whiskey. Daddy Rack’s whiskey is made with Grade 1 locally-farmed corn, sour mash fermentation and lightly rectified copper double distillation. It is also filtered using Lincoln County maple charcoal slow filtration before aging in new American oak barrels.

Jose Cuervo 1800 Silver Tequila is a premium silver tequila that slightly plays against the rules of tradition by resting, rather than aging, in an American oak barrel for up to 15 days after distillation, just long enough to take on a dash of colour and a slightly oaky body of flavour. Sporting the freshness of a traditional silver, the flavour deepens a bit, getting a bit spicy toward the end, and definitely savoury. Enjoy any way you like, mix up or take on the rocks, but note that the cap also doubles as a shot glass, so you might as well have a go.

One of the three official Craigellachie bottlings released in 2014, their 13 year old single malt Scotch whisky handsomely shows off the bold, robust character of the distillery's output. Oodles of dynamic fruit notes with a distinctive current of smoke running through the middle. Single malt Craigellachie hasn't been seen much outside of indie bottlings recently, so this is an ace return to our glasses from the distillery!

Matured for 12 years, Cragganmore is a delicious, sherry-infused single malt representing Speyside and offering up both fruity warmth and slight floral notes. As you open the bottom it’s those floral notes that come first, closely followed by heather, smoked almonds and honey.
