Released in the UK in 2014, the Mount Gay Black Barrel rum is made from single column and double pot distilled rum, though using a higher proportion of double pot distillates than their other expressions. It is also finished in heavily charred bourbon barrels before being bottled.

Your ancestors may even have heard of this one, Mount Gay is one of the world’s oldest rums, dating back to the 18th century. A Nardini, who can trace their history back to 1779. Acqua de Cedro liqueur Made with cedro lemons, Nardini describe this as "the noble cousin to limoncello". Although similar in flavour profile, this is drier, in part due to the tart juice from the cedro lemons.

An exciting expression from Nomad, this whisky has been on a journey! Firstly, a selection of previously matured malt and grain whiskies were blended and matured in Scotland. Next up, the blend was shipped over to Jerez, home of legendary sherry producer Gonzalez Byass, where it was filled into two types of sherry cask – Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso. This Reserve expression is matured for a decade in total, it's a splendid sipper, and should be rather exciting indeed for fans of well-sherried whiskies.

Olmeca Altos Reposado spends a little longer being aged than other Olmeca tequilas, with 18 months in 200 litre white American ex-bourbon casks. It retains a super sweet and fresh flavour with its aroma packed full of bright fruitiness, notes of strawberry and cherry. The woody smokiness from the casks is apparent and is brought out even further when you take a sip. Slightly sweet honey comes through alongside the smokiness and the aftertaste is long, powerful and memorable.
