Enjoy this cracking wine over the next couple of years. 60% Kekfrankos, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot
There can be little doubt that Furmint's origins are Hungarian. First mention of the variety was as far back as the 16th century and the fact that there are differing forms of Furmint bearing the same DNA in Hungarian vineyards suggest that it has been present here for very many years. Furmint is the principal grape of the great sweet wines of Tokaji, the other being its progeny, Harslevelu. Furmint is a very high-quality grape, capable of producing intense, complex wines of great age-worthiness.
We are delighted to introduce a new distinctive and elegant gin to our range, something exciting and different for this festive season. This limited edition is created by laying down One Gin’s signature premium sage gin to rest in reclaimed port barrels. The result is a smooth, distinctive ruby gin bursting with spice, warm vanilla and toasted oak.
Perfect serve as a winter G&T: In the bottom of a highball glass, squeeze and drop in a wedge of clementine and a wedge of lemon. Fill the glass with fresh ice and add a large measure of One Port Barrel Rested Gin. Top up with a premium tonic water.
Tasting Notes: An overall aromatic nose of baking spices, vanilla, sage, dates and pipe tobacco. Leads to a palate of bacclava, iced buns, pistachio ice cream, mincemeat, sage and baked granola, with a long, smooth finish.
The One Brand hopes to use One Gin to direct some of the profits in the gin industry to helping fund water and sanitation projects across the globe. Having raised £15 million for water projects, One is on target to raise £20 million by 2020, changing the lives of over five million people.
