Upon touching the tongue, fine tannins accompany a soft round mouth.. Dark summer cherry is the dominant flavour note, but hidden in the finish is a surprising flash of cracked black peppercorns.
This wine benifits immensely from being allowed to breath for a time and should not be drunk immediatley upon opening .

Lacryma Christi Rosso, or tears of Christ, is one of the most traditional wines from Campania. There are many stories of how Lacryma Christi received its name. One legend tells that when Jesus was ascending to Heaven, he glanced down at the earth, saw the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius and wept tears of joy at its beauty. Those tears fell on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius and vines miraculously grew in their place. Another story is based on winemaking techniques used by local monks in Campania. Lacryma Christi has been produced since the Roman Empire and as the monks didn’t have any filtering equipment, juice was instead passed through a canvas. As the wine fell drop-by-drop through the material, it was said to look like tears.
Packed with rich, juicy ripe berry fruit flavours, a touch of soft tannin and a subtle twist of spice. Try it with a hearty meat dish, cheeses or simply lap it up all on its lonesome... Purrrfect!
Our 'Cunning Little Cat' (Le Petit Chat Malin' in its native French) is a tasty wine made from specially selected grapes harvested in the vineyards of the sunny South of France.
Dominated by ripe Merlot, this is a forward, blackcurrant-flavoured wine. It combines freshness with super-rich fruitiness, giving a wine that only hints at darker, smoky tannins. The dense texture plays on the ripe fruit and suggests wine for the medium-term.
Easy drinking southern French red. The blend of Grenache and Syrah is at once intensely fruity, warmingly southern and slightly aromatic on the nose. Plump and juicy with luscious texture and subtle twist of spice on the finish, it is a fruit-driven style brimming with blackberry flavours yet underpinned with a backbone that hints at something more serious. Delicious with a platter of antipasto or tomato & meat based pasta dishes. It can also be enjoyed on its own. Maybe a dog's life isn't so bad after all!
This is a great gGigondas. Deep ruby red in colour with a very attractive bouquet ( oak, forest floor, red fruits and dark fruits) Austere tannins, moderate acidity offering notes of barrel ageing complemented by forest fruits Moderate length for finish .
A delicious bottle of wine! On the nose, I get smoky, bacon fat. On the palate, I get rustic, smoky, meat and a hint of blueberry. You can tell this is Syrah from the Rhone. It is somewhat reminiscant of a Cote Rotie.
With blackfruits on the nose, full bodied and silky, dense and pleasant tannins. You can enjoy it now with red meats. In the same range, you may also taste Private Reserve Margaux, Graves, Saint-Emilion and Saint Julien.

There can be little doubt that Furmint's origins are Hungarian. First mention of the variety was as far back as the 16th century and the fact that there are differing forms of Furmint bearing the same DNA in Hungarian vineyards suggest that it has been present here for very many years. Furmint is the principal grape of the great sweet wines of Tokaji, the other being its progeny, Harslevelu. Furmint is a very high-quality grape, capable of producing intense, complex wines of great age-worthiness.
Mendel is an old bodega situated at Drummond, Mendoza, built in 1928 and which was bought by the Sielecki family in 2002. They employed the highly respected Roberto de la Mota to make the wines. The wines are quite European in style, firm and structured as opposed to the more usual soft and fruity style, and are designed to develop in bottle. These wines are best enjoyed with food and benefit from decanting 30 minutes before drinking.
The flavour density is stunning, the complexity is joyful, and the balance is sublime. Caramelized apples, cobbler crust, subtle spices, nuances of Sauternes, sticky but with a tannic acidity that lifts the palate and pulls you back like a hummingbird to honeysuckle.
