Rich, warm red fruits on the nose with hints of dried herbs, this is a wine with a great sense of place and is one of the few reds that pairs brilliantly with cheese. Ageing in French oak barrels (20%) for 12 months adds spice and structure and the wine finishes with a fresh cherry note and light tannins, making you want another sip. "Vines planted in 1998 in the north-facing Kali Vrysi vineyard at 4,000 vines per ha and an elevation of 200–300 m. Picked 24 September at a yield of 36 hl/ha. Fermented in tank with malolactic conversion and ageing for 12 months in oak barrels (20% new).
