The Kyoto Distillery, the city's first dedicated gin maker, has fast become recognised for its fastidious attention to detail. Its second release, Ki No Tea, has been meticulously created to the same exacting standards. The limited edition expression is the result of a partnership with noted tea grower and blender Hori-Shichimeien, which was founded just to the south of Kyoto in 1879. A carefully selected blend of teas, including Tencha and Gyokuro, have been added to the botanical recipe (Hinoki cypress, yuzi and juniper, among others) which imparts an intense aroma and depth of flavour. Chic, elegant and dignified.

Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is made in a small distillery in Yarra Valley, Australia. Everything the Four Pillars distillers make is based around their four pillars - the still, the water, the botanicals and love. It's sort of a bit like the four elements of hip hop. Pillar 1 - The Four Pillars copper-pot still is called Wilma. Pillar 2 - The water they use from Yarra Valley is triple filtered. Pillar 3 - They use some local botanicals (Tasmanian pepperberry, lemon myrtle), some exotic botanicals (cinnamon, cardamom, coriander seeds and star anise) and some classic botanicals (juniper, lavender, angelica root), as well as whole oranges to give Four Pillars Gin its flavour profile. Pillar 4 - The distillers love what they do and love what they have made. It all adds up to a vibrant Australian gin which stands out in cocktails, but tastes just superb neat.

Renais Gin is a distinctive spirit inspired by the Burgundy region of France. Co-founded by siblings Alex and Emma Watson, it reflects their family's winemaking heritage. The gin is crafted from upcycled French wine grapes, particularly Grand Cru press grapes, and incorporates botanicals such as juniper berries, linden flowers, acacia honey, and Kimmeridgian stone—a limestone from the Chablis region known for imparting a mineral quality.

Resplendent in straw-yellow, Boudier’s Saffron gin places premium, luxurious saffron at its heart. Gabriel Boudier’s micro-distillery is known for the quality of its work and each Boudier’s Saffron gin batch is handcrafted using natural botanicals creating its delicately spicy character. Juniper is of course in there with notes of iris, angelica, orange peels and interesting fennel, delivering the liquorice aniseed notes which last long after drinking. The colour stands out but the flavour is even more memorable.

Inspired by the attitude and style associated with Hoxton, East London, this gin was produced by London-based nightlife entrepreneur and mixologist Gerry Calabrese in a local micro-distillery. Only ethically sourced botanicals, such as bergamot, chamomile, elderflower, grapefruit, gunpowder tea, hibiscus sugar, juniper, liquorice, orris and rose hip were used for the Hoxton's Pink's recipe.

Five days steeping before distillation in a copper pot still create the unique and unusually flavoured Hoxton Gin. California Gin (44%) is a premium gin infused with 10 botanicals including deep intense citrus flavours from Valencian oranges to give a real taste of California, without the jet lag. It conjures up sunlit days in Orange Country, named after the rolling acres of Valencian orange groves, heavy with sweet juicy fruit ripening under a warm sun. The bottle is of course orange in colour, with sunlight rays emanating from the California lettering depicted in the middle.

Marrakech Gin(42.5%) is infused with bright citrus and fragrant Moroccan spices and inspired by the wonderful tastes and aromas of Marrakech. Made by distilling whole Christmas Puddings made according to Ian’s Great Aunt Nellie’s recipe. A Pink Pepper Gin from French producers Audemus, situated in the heart of Cognac. Made with hand-picked pink peppercorns and a handful of other tasty botanicals (including honey, vanilla and cardamom - all of which are macerated separately then distilled under low pressure and temperature). You'll find a good juxtaposition between sweet and spicy notes in this one...

An exuberant expression of that most aromatic of spices, cardamom, made with organic green cardamom pods from Guatemala. For a long, refreshing drink, pour a large measure over ice and top with your favourite tonic water. Garnish with a slice of ruby red grapefruit.

The Warner Edwards distillers in Northamptonshire have brought us another flavour of excellent gin - they have been prolific since their start in 2012. This time, they've gone regal and created Rhubarb Gin, , as well as their Harrington Dry Gin. They also add just enough sugar to balance out the acidity from the rhubarb, producing a spirit with plenty of sweetness and some subtle, enjoyably sour notes emanate from the rhubarb.

An award-winner with additional sloe , what’s not to like? Sipsmith’s London Dry gin has been combined wonderfully with fresh hand-picked sloe berries at the height of ripeness. The end result is the rich and luxurious sloegin which simply bursts with fresh fruit flavour. Redcurrant and winter fruit aromas are released on opening and on tasting cassis and hints of warm cherry come through, offering a rounded flavour which benefits from a velvet smooth mouth feel and balanced sweetness. The name ‘Jindea’ is a portmanteau of ‘Juniper’ and the French words for India and tea, which provides a fairly accurate picture of the brand, as it is made in an alembic still in France, with juniper and first-flush Darjeeling tea as its main botanicals. Jindea’s other botanicals are lemon, grapefruit, coriander, ginger, fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, and angelica. Maceration lasts between three and five days, followed by pot still distillation.

Lovingly crafted in the heart of London, our Variorum Gin is a pink berry edition of the original King of Soho London Dry Gin. Notes of strawberry complement the classic juniper and citrus flavours of the original recipe; a bespoke libation distilled with twelve botanicals using traditional methods. Variorum Gin, a smooth and colourful elixir: fresh strawberry and floral chamomile lead on a wave of soft juniper with a suggestion of citrus. The off-sweet palate has fruit bursting at the front before a gentle vanilla spice emerges giving a luxurious creamy feel. Strawberries and cream give way to a subtle floral tone on the finish with a pronounced tang of grapefruit.
