Mastiha is a fascinating liqueur created in Greece using the resin of the rare mastiha tree grown on the Greek island of Chios. It's not often seen, but when you do, it's always worth a look. This particular expression is Kleos Mastiha, produced by master distiller Maroussa Tsaxaki using the mastiha tears (the hardened resin) and mastiha essential oils. The name comes from a Greek word meaning “fame or glory attained through good deeds and hard work” - which is clearly an admirable thing to aspire to!

The King’s Ginger liqueur is a medium-strength aromatic drink which is produced through the careful maceration of ginger root and the addition of warm and aromatic lemon oil. The flavour is rich and intensely spiced with ginger and a golden syrup-like thickness. The bite of ginger and tartness of the lemon make this a drink which hits the palate with a bang but soon mellows and becomes extremely satisfying.

The coffee liqueur which is known best around the world, Kahlua uses coffee beans from Mexico before being produced by the master blenders at Heering in Denmark. Frangelico is known as one of the big guys, one of Italy’s most famous liqueurs and one which has been around for more than 300 years. Traditional in its production and flavour, Frangelico captures the essence of the rich and flavourful hazelnut and offers it up as a smooth and creamy liqueur. The bottle is shaped like a monk’s habit, bringing back memories of its first producers and the flavour is truly intense with a nuttiness which is wonderful in coffee, over dessert or as part of the base of a creamy cocktail.

Fortunella liqueur was inspired by fragrant,aromatic golden oranges – kumquats – as well as their Chinese origins. Taking its name from the Asiatic species of kumquat known as Fortunella, this is a zesty, sweet liqueur, perfect for making cocktails or simply sipped over ice.

Fiorente Elderflower Liqueur has less sugar than many of its counterparts. Made with wild Piemontese elderflowers, just add Prosecco and soda water for a Hugo – the cocktail taking Europe by storm.
