From the pristine lagoons to the lush jungles, Plantation Isle of Fiji is an ode to the beauty of the Fiji Islands and beautiful they are too! This delicious rum is made using traditional techniques and local Fijian sugar cane. First aged in this tropical climate in bourbon casks, the rum is then sailed to the southwest of France for a second maturation in French oak casks. This double ageing method paired with Fijian know-how creates a rum with warm notes of exotic fruits and raisin.

A 2010-vintage Venezuelan rum from Plantation that was first matured for eight years in ex-bourbon barrels in Destiloeria Sofa's cellars. The barrels then made the sea voyage to Javrezac, in France's Charente region, where the rum spent a further four years in Ferrand French oak casks. Aromas of nutmeg, honey, vanilla, mandarin, coconut, Brazil nuts, coffee and sweet flowers fill the nose, complemented by notes of spicy oak, peanuts, tobacco, almond, black pepper, creme brulee, pineapple, dried banana and hazelnut throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.

Black Tears is produced using molasses sourced from four sugar mills in the Ciego de Avila province of the country. Coffee and cacao is used to create the spice flavour in the rum, which is produced by Grupo Azucarero (AzCuba Sugar Group). The company, which was formed seven years ago, has recommended a serve of 5cl of Black Tears to 15cl tonic in a highball glass.

An agricole rhum from Guadeloupe, Damoiseau Rhum Blanc is bottled at 40% ABV. The rum has been aged for up to six months in wooden casks, and the lower ABV brings out the sweeter notes. Well-suited to using in cocktails and punches.

Ron Matusalem went and sourced some wine casks for this limited edition release! The rum is charcoal filtered and matured in a solera system, before it's finished in casks which previously held Tempranillo wine. The tropical notes from the rum work wonderfully with the spicier notes from the wine cask, with just 8,000 bottles released. Rather snazzy bottle there, too.

It's a 100% Jamaican rum, featuring a fantastically vibrant and delicious flavour profile of mango, peppercorn, lemongrass, and more. During the 1700's Spain had finally managed to establish a fully functional trade route between Spain and Mexico. High quality Spanish products were in high demand in the colonies so where often shipped to Mexico to sell. One of the more popular products of the time was a sweet Spanish raisin wine. During one of the shippings the crew drank a little bit to much of the wine and where left with almost nothing to sell. To recover the lost money they filled the empty casks with Mexican rum to sell upon thier return to Spain. The rum became so popular it was actually banned from trade and consumption in Spain. El Ron Prohibido Habanero 12 year old follows the old recipe faithfully but with a more matured product.
