Created by London-based entrepreneur Rachel Verghis, MarGin is an artisanal gin that encapsulates the essence of the British ‘white fiver,’ originally issued by the Bank of England in 1793. This small-batch gin incorporates a precisely balanced infusion of nine botanicals, featuring juniper berries, pink hyssop, and cotton lavender among others. Flamboyant Vieux Rum is a Mauritian offering which enjoys a relaxing seven years maturing in ex-bourbon barrels. It is named for the Flamboyant Tree which appear on its labelling and is a native species of Mauritius. The flavour of the rum is exotic as its naming, with floral notes present from the off and lingering until the end. Well-rounded but not lacking in flavour, Flamboyant Vieux Rum is just begging to be sipped.

Bushmills Black Bush is an interesting blend that’s a little different from the rest on the market. Bringing together malt whiskies which have been aged for 11 years in sherry casks for a truly alternative flavour. The nose is powerful with lemon, fresh grapes and barley with a flavour which is sweet, almost dairy-infused and rich in fruit. Its finish brings the barley back into centre stage and peppery notes come through strongly.

The Pusser's Rum collection has had a bit of a revamp. While their Blue Label is still made with the exact same blend of rums - a recipe from the Admiralty - it is now bottled at 40% abv rather that 54.5% abv. The reasoning behind this, is it allows Pusser's to be distributed to Naval bases, where the maximum allowed strength is 40%. If you're looking for the original 54.5% version, then fear not! It has now been rebranded as Pusser's 'Gunpowder Proof' Black Label.

Conclusion Lively, peaty and full of flavour.

Roots Diktamo Liqueur is a deep brown in colour and rich in a huge range of aromatic and botanical flavours. The guys from Ben's Canteen in London have made a gin! Handcrafted from a small copper still in the bar area of Ben’s Canteen in London, in addition to juniper it contains honey and oranges, as well as 10 other botanicals. The Wandsworth honey represents living and working in London, while the oranges represent holidaying and dreaming in Mallorca – as, so we're told, the eponymous Ben often likes to do. Garnish with a slice of orange and a sprig of lavender.

In its striking bottle with its marmalade orange hues, Bulleit bourbon is high in rye which helps add real spice to its character. Award winning and becoming more and more popular, Bulleit has a pungent nose awash with orange and oak notes, as well as a hint of smoke and even a little banana.
