Jose Cuervo Anejo 1800 is an exceptional offering for one of our favourite tequila distilleries. Aged for over a year and selective French oak casks, each bottle of this tequila has been prepared to perfection. The aroma is rich in roasted coconut, toffee and a woody floral depth. This leads into a flavour which is equally woody, with the spice coming through in the form of cracked black pepper. The end note is dry yet immensely satisfying, wonderful for sipping at leisure.

An incredible rum – winner of a Platinum medal and ranked in First Place by the prestigious Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago, with a whopping 97 points. Interestingly, now that industry giants Diageo are distributing Zacapa, the '23 years old' age statement has suddenly been dropped and replaced with a somewhat more plausible claim – the rums used are aged between 6 and 23 years old and are blended together in a solera.

Clynelish is the successor to the now-silent Brora, built opposite the original distillery and producing a top-quality rich, smoky dram. One of the best entry-level proprietary bottlings available from any distillery.

The strongest vodka we have ever come across, Balkan 176 comes in a bottle with 13 different health warnings (including one in Braille), mainly because it's at 88% abv. It is produced in the Czech Republic, and is triple distilled and essentially shouldn't be drunk neat, sniffed, held or even owned.

The third of Patrons triumvirate of exceptional tequilas, Patron Reposado has a complex and distinctive flavour profile. Smooth from the first sip, you can taste the smokiness of the oak used in the maturation process and light fresh agave also comes through quickly. As the flavour builds you’ll enjoy notes of citrus and smooth honey, leading to a sweet and short aftertaste of honeyed vanilla and citrus zest.

The clue’s in the name with this one, Balvenie Doublewood Single Malt gets its name from the interesting distillation process, involving distillation in two woods. The maturation process involves moving the whisky from a traditional oak whisky cask to a Spanish oak sherry cask, adding more depth to its flavour and creating its warm, rounded character. Sweet fruit and sherry notes are apparent in its scent and the taste is mellow for a single malt, the sherry at work once more, with nuttiness and cinnamon notes building too.

A bottle of Calvados containing a 'captive apple'. Each carafe is suspended from the branches of apple trees in the springtime before the first apples appear. The apple then grows inside the carafe. When the fruit becomes ripe, the carafe is removed from the tree with the apple captive inside. The bottles are then filled with young Calvados at 70% which allows the apples to settle down and stabilise before they are refilled with Calvados. The apples inside the bottles then gently macerates inside the Calvados filled bottles. The visually-attractive bottles make excellent gifts. Best consumed as a digestif and enjoyed at room temperature.

Remus Straight Bourbon is produced at Indiana's Ross & Squibb distillery, and named after famed 'King of the Bootleggers', prohibition hero George Remus. This bourbon spent between five and six years maturing in charred American white oak barrels before being bottled at a satisfying 47% ABV. With sweet layers of maple and vanilla, supported by elegant helpings of rye, it's a solid sipper and would make a great choice for classic cocktails.

The drink which sparked a new revolution, La Fee Absinthe Parisienne was one of the first absinthes newly licensed when the drink was once again made legal. Distilled in Paris utilising a 19th century recipe, La Fee Parisienne is exclusively authenticated by Marie-Claude Delahaye, founder and curator of the absinthe museum. With classic green hues and the flavours of traditional wormwood, fennel anise and hyssop it has both an herbal aroma and sharp aniseed flavour.

Tokinoka Black is a Japanese whisky that was created by Akito Ueda, master blender at the White Oak distillery. It was made with a blend of malt whisky (50%) and grain whisky (50%) before being in matured three different types of casks - ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and new oak barrels. This edition is bottled at 50% ABV

Minor Case is an ode to what master distiller M.C. Beam’s rye whiskey would have tasted like had he not been stifled by Prohibition, aged in cream sherry casks for an unforgettable flavor. Silk Road Rose Fenjiu: "Based in Shanxi province, southwest of Beijing, Famed for its elegant ‘light-aroma’ style. With a history dating back 6,000 years, the Fenjiu Distillery still follows the ancient methods, using organic sorghum, water drawn from the Gouzhuang spring 840 metres below the nearby forest, double fermentation, double distillation with cornhusks added to the fermented grain, and long maturation periods in ceramic pots. The grain culture used to start the fermentation process is a combination of barley, peas and water, formed into bricks and left to develop in warm, humid conditions for up to two months until they grow yeasts, fungi and microorganisms. Fenjiu is matured in ceramic jars for between five and 30 years before blending and bottling. These breathable containers allow micro-oxygenation of the spirit and remove impurities, all without adding flavour. The Silk Road series is exclusively for overseas market.Although no sugar was added, the Silk Road Rose Fenjiu presents a soft rose sweetness, making it a perfect pair to a sweet dish or class tonic water." Gerrys Pick Single Barrel Sazerac ,750ml

The Kyoto Distillery, the city's first dedicated gin maker, has fast become recognised for its fastidious attention to detail. Its second release, Ki No Tea, has been meticulously created to the same exacting standards. The limited edition expression is the result of a partnership with noted tea grower and blender Hori-Shichimeien, which was founded just to the south of Kyoto in 1879. A carefully selected blend of teas, including Tencha and Gyokuro, have been added to the botanical recipe (Hinoki cypress, yuzi and juniper, among others) which imparts an intense aroma and depth of flavour. Finished in Oloroso sherry casks, Glenmorangie Lasanta is a warm, toasty single malt that takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic for warmth and passion. The nose is creamily sweet, with caramel, chocolate-covered fruit and sweet spices blended perfectly. The mouth feel is voluptuously thick, honeyed raisins, beeswax, vanilla ice cream and oaky dryness melt together in perfect harmony. An absolutely cracking American whiskey from the Boondocks range, helmed by Dave Scheurich, former master distiller of Woodford Reserve. This expression is made with a combo heavy in corn, along with helpings of rye and malt, and matured for 11 years before bottling. It's not quite a bourbon, as it was distilled to a higher strength than allowed for bourbon (which is 160 proof, or 80% ABV), and matured in used charred white oak bourbon barrels (rather than brand new ones).

An innovative eau-de-vie from Martell, which is made by finishing their acclaimed VSOP Cognac in Kentucky bourbon barrels. This finishing process adds rich aromatic tones to Martell's delicate, pure Cognac, layering the characteristic candied fruit and plum notes with vanilla and toasted oak.

A highly commended malt which offers wonderful value for money and exceptional flavour, this 15 year old Dalwhinnie lets its simple yet effective flavour notes do the talking. On the nose it’s all about aromatic toffee, sweet nectarine, apple blossom and just the slightest touch of smoke. When it comes to the palate you can reveal in malty walnut depth, sticky manuka honey and that gentle smoke weaving into the midst. Simplicity at its best.

San Cosme Mezcal is a stylish example of a traditional mezcal which has an extremely rich flavour, due to its non-chill filtration process. Its aroma lets you deep and earthy with a dry woody character and sweet roast agave notes. On first sip you’ll enjoy a viscous mouth feel, the flavours coating it entirely and a burst of fruity freshness followed by a creamy caramel-like depth. Herradura Reposado was launched in 1974 and the recipe has stayed the same ever since. One of the world’s first commercial reposado tequilas, the flavour benefits from 11 months ageing in oak casks. The aroma has an enticing note of cider, sweet apples, vanilla and cinnamon. This heady concoction is built upon as you sip with full bodied caramel, chocolate, nutty almonds and black pepper coming through. It’s the nutty notes that linger until the end.

Seriously clean vodka bursting with citrus zest and crème anglais notes. There is a wave of faint apple followed by big mineral crispness that evntually settles down into a clean and silky smooth finish with lingering lemon zest and hot toasty pepper. Ardbeg is another Scottish single malt of much worth. Straight from cask to bottle, Ardbeg offers a unique flavour which is different to others from regions. Tree bark, peat and vanilla fudge aromas are first to escape and on tasting a burst of smokiness, sea salt and sweet aniseed vanilla hit the palate. Honeyed notes help to mellow it out but it’s the smoky peat flavour which lingers on.

Released in 2015, Woodford Reserve Rye is only the third expression in the core range. 53% of the mashbill is rye, leading to notes of apple and sweet spice.

Produced in Oaxaca, Ilegal Joven is a young Mezcal which has the distinctive flavour of roasted agave and earthy tones which help it stand out from the crowd. Its aroma are fresh and youthful, with fresh flowers, peppermint and tobacco notes all coming through. It has a complex herbal character which is softened by caramel and raisin flavours and spiced up with black pepper heat. It ends with the floral notes at the forefront.

American Oak is Seattle-based distillery Westland's flagship release. Made with barley from Washington, this is rich and creamy with notes of chocolate custard, almond and bananas. Seattle distillery Westland uses locally sourced ingredients to create American single malt whiskies that honour the tradition of American whiskey-making with a Pacific North West twist.

Eminente Reserva 7 Year Old is a particularly snazzy Cuban rum, made with 100% Cuban sugar cane. Bright and clean, but with plenty of complex and depth as it develops on the palate, with rich coffee and tobacco notes sitting alongside fruity cherry and floral wafts. Should do very well simply sipped neat, but we reckon it'll also make for a great Palmetto or Rum Old Fashioned...

White Mauritius Rum lightly spiced. On the nose you will get a nice pleasant light sweet coconut aromas which gives way to a full round mellow coconut taste on the palate.

A very high-strength overproof pot-distilled molasses rum from Mauritius, Tilambic is aged for up to seven years. The 151 represents the strength in US proof, which means that this rum is 75.5% abv and as such should be used extremely carefully and not ingested neat.

Very exciting stuff here, folks! This is the first single malt whisky from the Cotswolds Distillery (as well as being the first single malt whisky ever distilled in the Cotswold countryside!). A much-anticipated release, which has been produced using barley grown in the Cotswolds, distilled in their Forsyths copper pot stills (Mary & Janis) and aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and red wine casks. We've been eagerly awaiting this whisky, and we know plenty of you have been too!

With Legent, we finally get to see the results of the merging of Beam and Suntory in liquid form. This is a fun east meets the west bottle. Legent is a result of years of collaboration between Fred Noe, Jim Beam Master Distiller, and Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory Chief Blender. It’s an effort of uniting a master blender and a distiller from two different worlds. It began with Fred distilling the bourbon in Kentucky. Shinji visited Kentucky to taste the barrels throughout the aging process. Once the whiskeys were ready to be blended, Shinji stepped in with his blending expertise..

Remy Martin VSOP Mature Cask benefits from a precise maturation process which involves placing the eaux de vie in specially selected Limousin oak casks that are more than 20 years old. These casks allow the fruity notes of the blend to be enhanced further and it’s a wonderful cognac which can be enjoyed over ice or as a key flavour in a sophisticated cocktail. Apricot and peach take centre stage with notes of rose and sweet vanilla following after.

Appleton Rare 12 Year Rum brings together rums of ages between 12 and 18 offering one of the finest quality aged rums that Jamaica has to offer. The age of this rum is apparent from the moment you open it, with a thick and rich nose packed full of buttery vanilla and nutty spice notes. It is rich and creamy on the palate with an oaky biscuit flavour. The oaky notes are the most prominent to the end.

No, there hasn’t been an accident it’s supposed to look like that! The distinctive asymmetrical bottle that R.L. Seale’s Finest rum is delivered in is just one of its many great perks. Matured in ex-madeira and ex-brandy cases this rum is awash with welcomingly sweet flavours as well as spiced notes. Spicy cooking apples are surrounded by notes of freshly baked pastry, cinnamon and nutmeg leading into a long and satisfying end of toffee apple and oak.

Four Roses Single Barrel takes all the qualities of their exceptional bourbon and intensifies them further. Tequila inspired by the beauty of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula. Cenote's Blanco is a fresh, citrusy tequila with notes of fresh fruits, pepper, green vegetables, cooked agave and a hint of wood. This is a smooth sipper and a great cocktail ingredient.

Laphroaig Quarter Cask was released in 2004 to much esteem. Youthful compared to other offerings it’s a highly commendable malt which still has a bold, enticing flavour despite its young age. Oily and butter rich on the nose, toffee, nuts and hickory smoke come through measuredly. The palate gives a bold hit of sweetness with fiery chilli heat coming through quickly in pursuit, medicinal freshness, chewy cereals and even a hint of cola also follow.

Twelve years work and dedication goes into the creation of El Dorado 12 year rum and three different stills’ worth of spirit is used to guarantee a perfectly smooth and enjoyable drink. The length of maturation helps develop the fruit flavours within the rum, prunes, dates and toffee apple come through strongly with sherry treacle and cinnamon spice flavours also complimenting the flavour profile. The balance of this rum is delicate, leaning slightly towards the sweet but not without a welcome hit of spice.

An unpeated whisky from Paul John Distillers, released in early 2013 to much acclaim. It's made using barley from the foothills of the Himalayas and is distilled and matured in Goa, producing a fruity spirit with a creamy texture.

Tico Reposado Tequila - 700ml Award-winning, additive-free tequila from Arenal, just outside of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico. A 100% agave expression which spends up to 8 months maturing in ex-bourbon barrels, leaving it with a rounded finish, golden hue and notes of honey, butter and caramel.

Gosling Black Seal 151 is a full-flavoured dark rum that has the additional benefit of oak barrels which have been used to age bourbon. It stands out against other rums of the region because of its caramelised flavour and the bourbon notes that the oak casks offer. The taste of treacle melds with spicy cinnamon and orange zest to create a depth of flavour which is both inviting and demands another taste. The strength of flavour is perfect for combining with ginger to create the perfect Dark & Stormy.

The entry level bottle from the Glenkinchie Distillery, this 12 year old malt is rich in the classic flavours whisky lovers look for. The nose is light and fragrant, with cereal notes and a little barley sweetness most prominent. The flavour is fruity with notes of sweet Madeira, calvados and tannic oak flooding the mouth. Fresh and rounded, this dram is vibrantly refreshing with just a little gentle spice coming through.

Young and sprightly, Patron Silver is the youngest of their tequilas and its flavour reflects its youth. Clear in colour and rich with fruity aromas, particularly citrus, Patron Silver is refreshing and has a smooth sweetness about it. Soft and light the flavour is peppered with hints of citrus with natural agave taking centre stage. Light peppery notes hit on the finish adding some welcome bite to the end note.

Created in 1796 by Basil Hayden, who went against the grain (no pun intended) by adding in rye into the traditional corn-based mashbill. It was a huge hit and today is one of Jim Beam's 'Small Batch' range of bourbons.

Each barrel is hand selected to ensure the flavour is absolutely perfect before bottling. The nose is rich with toasted oak notes as well as warm corn and cereal-inspired sweetness. There’s a note of smoke in there which is brought out strongly in the flavour and teams beautifully with nut oils and a spicy aniseed depth. Produced at Japan's Kyoto Distillery, Ki No Bi is the first gin to be made in the city. Made with a rice spirit and botanicals including yellow yuzu, Japanese cypress, green tea, bamboo and sanso berries (Japanese peppercorn), this has classic juniper notes which complement the Japanese botanicals. With a warming and spicy finish, this will make a delicious G&T.

The 54% is hidden in the chocolate notes, which brings warmth to this 12-year-old Panama rum. Nose: Heavy dark chocolate, hot cream, and touches of citrus.
