Annoyed by his mistake, he put the barrel in the corner of the cellar and forgot about it. When he opened the barrel a few years later, he discovered an astonishing beverage of yellow-golden colour.
Its clear texture, honey taste and fruity notes seduced this Monsieur Pineau, who named the liquor wine after himself. The Pineau des Charentes was born.
